List of works undertaken under SWACHH BHARAT MISSION

E. Generation of wealth from organic waste through  Vermicomposting.and  Promotion of clean and green technology and Organic Farming in Karmali Village was carried out on 20-12-2021.

F. Under Swachhta Pakhwada, a visit to the newly established eco-friendly Sewage Water Treatment Plant was organized with the staff members and workers of the Institute and a detailed procedure  of the modus operandi of the treatment plant was discussed. The Officials of the Institute briefed about the importance of recycling of waste water for sustainable utilization of water resources. This activity was carried out on 21-12-2021.

G. Technology Demonstration for Waste to Wealth in Agriculture was conducted. Also, Silent Swachhta Awareness procession (Rally)  was conducted from the ICAR-CCARI campus –Bom Jesus Church- Old Market – SBI and back to ICAR Campus. All the Officials/staff members and the contractual staff participated in the silent procession, Distributed masks to the public on 22-12-2021

H. Celebration of Special Day-Kisan Diwas (Farmer’s Day) by inviting Farmers, Experience sharing on Swachhta initiatives by farmers and civil society officials and Felicitating of farmers/civil society officials for exemplary initiatives on Swachhta was done on 23-12-2021

I. Swachhta Awareness at local level (organizing Sanitation Campaigns involving and with the help of the farmers, farm woman and village youth in view villages not adopted under any scheme by Institutes/ Establishments was done on 24-12-2021.

J. Cleaning of Public places, community market places and / or  nearby tourist/selected spots was done on 25-12-2021.

K. Fostering healthy competition : Organizing competition and rewarding best offices/residential areas/ campuses on cleanliness, Quiz, Essay & drawing competitions for school children, village youth was held on 26-12-2021.

L. Awareness on waste management and other activities including utilization of organic waste/generation of wealth from waste, polythene free status, Composting of kitchen and home waste materials, promoting clean and green technologies and organic farming practices in new area was done on 27-12-2021.

M. Campaign on cleaning of sewerage and water lines, awareness on recycling of waste water, water harvesting for agriculture/ horticulture application/kitchen gardens in residential colonies and Outside campus/nearby villages with the involvement local village communities was done on 28-12-2021.

O. Smt. Lorna Dias Lotlekar, Principal, Vasant V.S. Kukalekar Higher Secondary School, Old Goa, took part  and  delivered a lecture on “Importance of Cleanliness”. A demonstration was carried out showing the process involved in converting bio-waste into vermicompost.  A Webinar on “Swachhta and Health” was organized in which Dr. Rajendra Tamba, Retired Health Officer, Directorate of Health Services Goa, was the resource person and delivered a talk. All this activities were carried out on 30-12-2021.
