ICAR-CCARI organised capacity building cum demonstration programme on crab fattening at Kochi, Kerala
International Sat guru foundation, & ICAR-CCARI, Goa Celebrated Van Mahotsav
On July 07th 2024 the international sat guru foundation, Shri Datta Padmanabh Peth, Sat guru foundation, Krishi Gokul, Ponda organized Van Mahotsav in collaboration with ICAR-CCARI Goa. Peethadeshwar Shri Brahmeshanand Acharya Swami ji of international Sat guru foundation Ponda inaugurated the tree plantation drive. In his speech, he emphasized various natural and humanitarian issues concerning soil conservation. He underscored the importance of adopting practices that promote the conservation and management of native biodiversity, including natural resource utilization, ecological restoration, and land management. This approach aims to safeguard their integrity for both present and future generations. Shri Naveen Kumar, IFS, Conservator of Forests, emphasized that tree plantation reduces environmental pollution and contributes to soil conservation. Dr. Parveen Kumar, Director ICAR-CCARI Goa highlighted that planting trees helps to maintain the earth’s beauty and mitigates the harmful effects of global warming. Dr. Kumar assured the foundation of continued technical supported/planting material for beautifying the campus and conserving the soil erosion from steep topography. Total of 200 farmers and farm women attended the program. Additionally, a blood donation and ayurveda camp took place, where over 120 individuals donated blood. Shri Rahul Kumar, SMS (Agronomy) and Mrs. Pratibha Sawant from ICAR-CCARI Goa attended the Van Mahotsav program.
