Shri. Pramod Sawant, MLA and Chairman, GSIDC was the chief guest during the distribution of Agricultural Machinery to Tribal Farmers of Goa on 20.6.2015 under Tribal Sub Plan, Govt. of India at ICAR-CCARI, Old Goa. Dr. N.P.Singh, Director of the institute presided over the function. During the distribution, Dr.NP.Singh narrated the success of TSP programme for the past three years by ICAR and he urged the tribal farmers to make use the machinery provided to them for development of agriculture in general and livelihood security for the farmers in particular. Dr. Pramod Sawant, MLA urged the farmers to take up agriculture with interest and the assistance will be provided to the needy. Agricultural machinery comprising of Mini Pulveriser (4 nos.), Power Tiller-13.5 HP (1 no.), Water pump-1.5 HP (1 no.), Pusa SRFR meter (5 nos.), Grass cutter (4 nos.), Portable Vermicompost unit (5 nos.), Knapsack sprayer (1 no.) and Power sprayer (2 nos.) were distributed to the different tribal SHG’s came from Canacona, Quepem, Bicholim, Tiswadi, Ponda taluks of Goa. The formal vote of thanks was delivered by Dr.Maruthadurai, Scientist (Agri. Ento.) and TSP Co-ordinator and the programme was compered by Dr. S. Priya Devi, Senior Scientist (Hort.).
