Poultry feed distribution programme under SCSP at Karwar, Karnataka

     The Institute organised a poultry feed distribution program at Karwar, Uttara Kannada coastal district of Karnataka, on 21 November 2024. During the programme, Dr. Udharwar Sanjaykumar Vithalrao, Subject Matter Specialist (Animal Science), ICAR-KVK, North Goa emphasized the importance of scientific feeding practices for poultry birds. He explained how the feed management plays a crucial role in enhancing egg production and promoting growth in backyard poultry. Grower and layer feed types were distributed to the SC women farmers. The event was coordinated by Dr. Udharwar Sanjaykumar Vithalrao, Co-Nodal Officer of the Scheduled Caste Sub Plan (SCSP), and Dr. Sreekanth G.B., Senior Scientist (Fisheries Resource Management) and Nodal Officer for SCSP.  The program was organised in collaboration with the Agricultural Technology Management Agency (ATMA), Karwar. A total of 20 farm women were benefited from this initiative that aims to enhance poultry farming practices and strengthen the livelihoods of rural women in the coastal region.
