Report on training on ‘Silage Making’ under SCSP Programme.

Under Schedule Caste Sub Plan (SCSP) programme two trainings were conducted on Silage Making. Out of the two trainings,one training was conducted at KVK for farmers and farm women of Menkurem and Narve on 6th and 7th May, 2019. Around 17 participants benefitted from the training on Silage Making. Second training on the same was conducted at Ibhrampur on 8th and 9th May, 2019 in which 20 number of farmers and farm women participated and completed the training. The programme started with importance of green fodder in rearing animals followed by problems in its availability year round by Dr. Monica Suresh Singh, SMS (Ag. Extn),  KVK-North Go a. Then the concept of silage and procedure of silage making was explained in details to the farmers by Dr. Sanjaykumar V Udharwar,SMS (Animal Science). The participants were made to do each step in silage making individually starting from cutting of fodder to filling of silage bags.
