SCI-FFI, First Science Film Festival of India-2016
ICAR-Central Coastal Agricultural Research Institute actively participated in the SCI-FFI, First Science Film Festival of India, an unique festival held in the ESG premises, Panaji from January 14 to January 17. The three-day event was packed with film screenings, discussions, interactive sessions and workshops with experts and scientists.
A symbolic release of the film festival poster by vice chairman of Entertainment Society of Goa Shri. Damu Naik and Patron of the festival, Chairman, Dempo Group of Industries, Shri. Srinivas Dempo threw open the three-day festival. Others present on the occasion were Chairman of the Organising Committee, S W A Naqvi; Secretary, Science and Technology, Government of Goa Padma Jaiswal, President, Vidnyan Parishad- Goa, Suhas Godse; National Organising Secretary, Vidnyan Bharati, Jayantrao Sahasrabudhe and Patron of Vidnyan Bharati, Shankar Rao Tatwawadi.
The Institute had a huge stall wherein CCARI displayed specimens and posters representing their research and extension activities. Dr. E. B. Chakurkar also made a presentation and two films on ICAR and ICAR-CCARI were screened. This was followed with an interactive session with the participants. The Institute stall was visited by hundreds of students and science enthusiast every day.
The four day festival concluded on 17-01-2016. The Valedictory Ceremony was attended by the Honourable Chief Minister of Goa, Shri. Laximikant Parsekar, S W A Naqvi; Secretary, Science and Technology, Government of Goa Padma Jaiswal, President, Vidnyan Parishad- Goa, Suhas Godse; National Organising Secretary, Vidnyan Bharati, Jayantrao Sahasrabudhe and Patron of Vidnyan Bharati, Shankar Rao Tatwawadi.
