Field Day and Input Distribution Under STC for Community Level Agroecotourism Development
A field day cum input distribution programme was conducted on community owned field at Satorli, Gaondongrem in Cancona taluka of South Goa by ICAR CCARI on 16th January 2025 under Scheduled Tribe Component. Dr. N. K. Tyagi, former ASRB member and former Director, ICAR CSSRI, Karnal, graced the occasion. The programme was organised for implementation of the model Agroecotourism (AET) in Goa under Viksit Bharat.
The Institute has planned to extend the basic support to the Self Help Group of Scheduled Tribe community along with capacity building for developing an entrepreneurship among the SHG members for AET. With initial sensitization, the group members were briefed about various possible components in prospective AET. As a first step, planting material of various fruits, spices, vegetables and ornamental plants were distributed to the beneficiaries on field. Dr. N. K. Tyagi interacted with farmers and gave his valuable suggestions on the sustainable development aligning with proposed AET development. Dr. R. Solomon Rajkumar, Sr. Scientist and Shri Vinod A. Ubarhande, Farm Superintendent coordinated the programme with technical support of Shri Datta Velip, Sr. Technician, ICAR CCARI.
