The XXVI^th Scientific Advisory Committee Meeting of ICAR-Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Central Coastal Agricultural Research Institute, North Goa, was held on February 19, 2024, at the Dr Varghese Kurian Meeting Hall. The SAC meeting was chaired by Dr Parveen Kumar, Director, ICAR-CCARI, Goa. In his opening remarks, he provided an overview and achievements of KVK, North Goa. He invited SAC members to provide valuable suggestions that ICAR-KVK could implement in their action plan 2024. Further, he also emphasized the significance of flagship programmes of pulse and oilseed, millet production, and value addition. Dr Tushar Athare, Scientist (Agrl. Extension), ICAR-ATARI, Pune, Zone VIII, suggested that more emphasis should be given to entrepreneurship development, value addition, and attracting more rural youth to agriculture. The event was attended by heads and representatives of line departments viz., Dept of Agriculture, Dept of Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Services, NABARD, Small Industries Services Institute, and Managing Directors of Goa State Horti. Corporation, and Goa Milk Producers Cooperative Union, All India Radio, all the scientists of ICAR-CCARI, Ex-SMS (Plant Protection and Home Science), and Progressive Farmer of Pillar, Tiswadi, actively participated and discussed. Dr N Bommaysamy, Senior Scientist & Head, welcomed the meeting attendees and explained the action taken on the previous year's SAC meeting recommendations. He also presented an overview of ICAR-KVK and its mandatory activities since the last SAC. Dr. Sanjay Kumar Udharwar SMS (Animal Science) presented the activities and an action plan for 2024. All SAC members made valuable suggestions for improving the transfer of useful technologies in North Goa in the coming years. In the end, Dr Sanjay Kumar Udharwar, SMS (Animal Science), proposed a vote of thanks.
