ICAR-CCARI ABI (AGNI) organised Residential Incubation Program

 

   AGNI-Agri-business incubation centre of ICAR-Central Coastal Agricultural Research Institute (CCARI) Goa organised residential incubation program for ‘IGNITE – 2024 Conclave’ selected five young Agri-entrepreneurs in July 2024 . These Young Agri-entrepreneurs’ are from 4 different states (Goa, Maharashtra, Jammu & Kashmir, and Tamil Nadu).   The  inauguration & orientation program for the same was held on July 9,2024.  

The program was inaugurated by Dr. Parveen Kumar, Director, ICAR-CCARI, Goa during the inaugural address he assured that ABI- AGNI will make all the best efforts to transform the ideas into industries with the larger goal of retaining youth in agriculture through entrepreneurship.

The residential incubation program included different EDP sessions, external visits to nearby  tech incubators and support given by them for early stage startups.

On July 9 , 2024 a lecture  on Startup Ecosystem was conducted by Mr. D.S. Prashant, CEO, Goa startup & IT promotion cell, Govt. of Goa . In Forenoon session  Dr. Shripad Bhat , Senior Scientist , Agril . economics & Co-PI ABI guided on Marketing and IP and Patent aspects its registration  in detail

On July 10, 2024 Mr. Pravin Sabnis , Head coach, Unlearning Unlimited Organisation , Goa guided on Entrepreneurial skills, Business risk, Inventory management for startup ,

 Mr. Kiraan Mehta, Head , Innovation & incubation, FiiRE , Fatorda , Madgaon elaborated different schemes and funding sources for seed stage startups & support given by FiiRE,

A visit was organised  to Build 3 organisation , Candolim , Goa on July 11, 2024 for exposure to different accelerator programmes and support given by the organisation

During July 15 to 17, 2024  a three days Entrepreneurial workshop was organised at BiTS Bionest Incubator at Madgaon , Goa which covered different aspects of successful startup right from idea stage to marketing and raising funds.Also visit at   at FiiRE , Fatorda, Madgaon  was planned on July 19 , 2024 which was very informative about different funding programs and seed grants through different schemes.

With this the incubatees worked on their product development with discussion with the expert team of mentors allotted to them. The program concluded on July 31, 2024.

The program was coordinated by Dr. Mathala Juliet Gupta, Principal Scientist & PI AGNI, Dr. R. Solomon Rajkumar, Senior Scientist & Co-PI of AGNI and Dr. Shripad Bhat, Senior Scientist & Co-PI AGNI, ICAR- CCARI, Goa.
