ICAR-CCARI celebrated the 75th Republic Day

    ICAR – Central Coastal Agricultural Research Institute, Goa celebrated the 75th Republic Day of India with great passion on 26th January 2024. The Director hoisted the National Flag followed by the National Anthem, patriotic slogans, a parade and march by security guards, an awards ceremony, a cultural programme, decorations and sweet distribution to celebrate this very important national day. On this occasion, Shri Sanjay Anant Patil, an innovative farmer from Goa who has been conferred with the coveted Padma Shri 2024, was felicitated for his contribution to natural farming and zero-energy micro irrigation. The Director, Dr. Parveen Kumar, addressed the gathering and paid tributes to all the freedom fighters. He also saluted the Indian Defence Forces for their untiring services. As a research institute, he has emphasized our duties for the development of the farmers of the coastal area, thereby ultimately contributing to the nation's progress. The recognition awards for the contractual staff, the Swachh Bharat competition on the theme ‘waste to wealth’ and annual games were distributed. The cultural programmes for children and staff members were organized, comprising singing, dancing, poem reading, etc., based on the patriotic theme of this National Day. Progressive farmers, all the staff members including contractual workers, family members of staff and security guards, attended the Flag hoisting ceremony and cultural programme. Shri Vinod Ubarhande, ACTO (Farm Superintendent) and General Secretary, Institute Staff Recreation Club and team coordinated the celebration of the Republic Day programme.
