Hands on training programme on Protected cultivation of high value crops in Goa
RKVY (National Agriculture Development Programme) funded training programmed on Protected cultivation of high value crops in Goa was conducted for the benefit of polyhouse cultivators in Goa. In the training, lectures on Protected Cultivation of high value crops in Goa, Cultivation of Flower crops in Polyhouse, Cultivation of Gladiolus and Tuberose under Open field in Goa, Suitable Protected structures for high value crops in Goa, Plant protection in Protected Structures were delivered by Dr.M.Thangam, Dr.Safeena, SA, Dr.MJ.Gupta and Dr.R.Maruthadurai respectively and hands on training on different aspects of polyhouse and shadenet cultivation was shown at the polyhouse complex at Farm-C of ICAR. During the valedictory function, Dr. Narendra Pratap Singh, Director of the institute emphasized the scope of protected cultivation and need to develop marketing strategies to promote and go for large scale cultivation in the state of Goa and later certificates were distributed to the participants. The training was organized by Dr.M.Thangam, Senior Scientist (Horticulture) and Principal Investigator of RKVY project on protected structures for training and demonstration.
