Prof. Panjab Singh, Chancellor, RLBCAU, Jhansi, Ex-Secretary, DARE & DG, ICAR and Ex-VC, BHU, Varanasi visits ICAR-CCARI, Goa

    Prof. Panjab Singh, Chancellor of The Rani Lakhsmi Bai Central Agricultural University, Jhansi, Ex-Secretary, DARE & DG, ICAR and Ex-VC, BHU, Varanasi visited ICAR-CCARI, Goa on 24-11.2023. Retired and present VCs and Directors of ICAR Institutes were also present during the visit.  A special attraction of the ICAR-CCARI, an Agroecotourism (AET) unit in the Block A was visited by the dignitaries. The dignitaries were apprised of the concept of the AET and role of the institute to work on it as per the mandate. Different component s of the AET were explained. A newer and novel initiative to work on a public-private partnership to promote the AET in the coastal region was complemented by the Dr. Singh and dignitaries. The field visit included visits to the experimental units of integrated farming systems, field and horticultural crops, animal sciences, fishery science, etc. A unique infrastructure, central instrumentation facility (CIF) was also visited during the visit. An exhibition showcasing the technologies, products and publication of the Institute were showcased. Prof. Singh and dignitaries appreciated the research achievements of the Institute. Dr. Parveen Kumar, Director, ICAR-CCARI and team coordinated the visit. On the occasion, the dignitaries were felicitated by ICAR-CCARI.
