ICAR-CCARI mourns the loss of Dr. M. S. Swaminathan, Father of the Green Revolution in India

    A condolence meeting was organized at the Institute to pay homage to late Professor M. S. Swaminathan, an eminent agricultural Scientist and ‘Father of the Green Revolution in India’. The staff of the Institute recalled his visit to the Institute on 27th September 2010 and remembered his valuable suggestions for the betterment of agriculture in the state of Goa. During the event, Director Dr. Parveen Kumar paid tribute to Professor Swaminathan, acknowledging his immense contributions to India's agricultural sector. Dr. Kumar described him as an exceptional individual whose groundbreaking work not only transformed the lives of millions of farmers but also played a pivotal role in ensuring India's food security.

    A two-minute silence was observed to mourn the passing away of Dr. Swaminathan.
