Hon'ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi ji visited the ICAR-CCARI Goa exhibition
On February 6, 2024, Shri Narendra Modi, Hon'ble Prime Minister of India, inaugurated and laid the foundation stone for various development projects in Goa as part of the Viksit Bharat, Viksit Goa 2047 initiative. On this occasion, the ICAR-Central Coastal Agricultural Research Institute, Goa showcased innovative climate-smart agriculture technologies under the theme "Viksit Bharat, Viksit Krishi, Viksit Kisan" programmes. During his visit, the Honourable Prime Minister was provided with an overview of the Institute's history and its multidisciplinary research objectives and achievements in advancing the development of plant varieties of field and horticultural crops, registered animal breeds, and technologies. During the visit of India's Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Madi ji, Governor of Goa, Hon'ble Shri P.S. Sreedharan Pillai, and the Chief Minister of Goa, Hon'ble Dr Pramod Sawant, were also present. Dignitaries were apprised about the institute focus of increasing the production and productivity of field and horticultural crops, livestock, and fisheries relevant to India's coastal natural resource base in a sustainable manner beside institute also serves as a centre of agro-ecotourism to strengthen rural economy. Institute farmer Shri Sanjay Anant Patil who is Padma Shri awardee 2024 and KVK Officials interacted with the dignitaries.
