Workshop cum awareness on ‘PM KUSUM’

                  As part of 100 days programmes, ICAR-CCARI-KVK, North Goa organized a Workshop cum Awareness Program cum on Pradhan Mantri Kisan Urja Suraksha Evam Utthan Mahabhiyan (PM KUSUM) on 8 October 2024 at KVK, North Goa. The main objective of the event is to assist the farmers in installing off-grid solar pumps in rural areas. Dr Parveen Kumar, Director, ICAR-CCARI, Goa emphasized the importance of solar power energy for a sustainable and cost-effective way to meet the growing energy requirement of farmers. He urged the farming community to take more benefits from PM KUSUM Yojana. Dr N Bommayasamy, Senior Scientist & Head, briefed the ways to avail the financial assistance from centrally and state government schemes, and advised to utilize the natural resource more effectively for enhancing the profitability by reducing production. Mrs. Anupa V.P. Khorjuvekar, Assistant Manager (Engineering), Goa Energy Development Agency (GEDA) undertaken by Government of Goa, briefed the benefits of PM- Kusum, PM-Surya Ghar Yojana, Goem Vinamulya Vij Yevjan 2024 and other related yojana’s. for effective utilization of solar energy in day-to-day life, reduce their dependency on non-renewable energy source. As part of the event, forty-four (4 male and 40 female) participants visited solar water pump demonstration unit installed at KVK, premises. Dr Sanjaykumar Udharwar proposed a vote of thanks. The program was coordinated by Mr. Rahul M. Kulkarni, Dr. N. Bommayasamy, Dr. Sanjaykumar Udharwar, Mr. Rahul Kumar and Mr. Vishwajeet Prajapati.
