ICAR-CCARI, KVK North Goa Participated in the PM-KUSUM Workshop at Institute Menezes Braganza, Panaji, Goa

    ICAR-CCARI and Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK), North Goa, Goa, participated in the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Urja Suraksha Evam Utthan Mahabhiyan (PM-KUSUM) Valedictory Ceremony, which marked the successful completion of 100 capacity-building workshops. The event, held in collaboration with Agricultural Skill Council of India (ASCI) and German Cooperation, took place in Panaji, Goa, on December 7, 2024, with the participation of over 120 farmers and officials from various government departments.

 The ceremony was graced by prominent dignitaries, including Shri Shripad Naik, Hon'ble Union Minister of State for the Ministry of Power and New and Renewable Energy; Shri Sudin Dhavalikar, Hon'ble Power Minister of Goa; Shri Ajay Yadav, Joint Director of MNRE; and Ms. Suman Chandra, Director at MNRE.

 The aim of the workshop was to enhance energy security for farmers through the promotion of solar pumps, grid-connected solar power projects, and decentralized solar systems. This flagship initiative has been instrumental in providing farmers with reliable, clean energy, reducing their dependency on fossil fuels, and empowering them to adopt sustainable energy solutions for irrigation and farming activities.

Dr. A. Raizada, Principal Scientist (Agroforestry) and Director In-charge of ICAR-CCARI, Goa, along with Dr. S.K. Roy, Director of ATARI-Pune, and Dr. Udharwar S.V., In-charge of KVK North Goa, along with all the officials from ICAR-KVK, North Goa, participated in the program. Dr. Udharwar S.V., Mr. Rahul Kumar, Mr. Rahul Kulkarni, and Mr. Vishwajeet Prajapati played key roles as coordinators from North Goa, ensuring active participation from the farmers.
