PMFME Sponsored Training Programmes for New and Existing Beneficiaries on Fruits and Vegetable Processing

    Two concurrent training programmes, funded by Pradhan Mantri Formalization of Micro Food Processing Enterprises for New and Existing Beneficiaries on Plantation and Spices Crops, were organized between November 25 -2 December, 2021 ICAR-CCARI. The training was coordinated by Dr. Mathala Juliet Gupta, Senior Scientist (AS&PE). Two New beneficiaries were trained on various aspects of Processing of Jackfruit Value addition into minimally processed tender jackfruit, pickle, papad. Leather, flour,  wine: processes, SOPs, Packaging, Storage, FSSAI guidelines, EDP, Supply chain, plant layout, machinery selection, Cleaning of processing machinery, Advances in packaging, different packaging materials, methods and machinery involved (Primary, Secondary and tertiary) in the packaging of fruits and vegetable products, advances in the storage of fruits and vegetables, cleanliness etc. Twelve existing beneficiaries were trained on processing Aonla, banana, Kokum into various value-added products: processes, SOPs, Packaging, Storage, FSSAI guidelines, EDP, Supply chain, plant layout, machinery selection, Cleaning of processing machinery, Advances in packaging, different packaging materials, methods and machinery involved (Primary, Secondary and tertiary) in the packaging of fruits and vegetable products, advances in the storage of fruits and vegetables, cleanliness etc. The trainees underwent extensive hands-on training at the Post-harvest laboratory of ICAR-CCARI. The Beneficiaries were examined by third party examiners “FICSI” on the final day.
