PMFME Sponsored Seed Capital SHG beneficiaries’ Training Programme

One day Seed Capital SHG beneficiaries training was conducted on May 25, 2023.  Total number of beneficiaries were 29 from North Goa district. The beneficiaries were trained on various aspects.

During the Seed Capital SHG Training, Dr. Mathala Gupta, Principal Scientist from ICAR CCARI delivered an overview of the Pradhan Mantri Formalization of Micro Food Processing Enterprises (PM FME) scheme. They also gained an understanding of the food processing industry's supply chain and were briefly informed about other government schemes that support food processing enterprises.

Mr. Pravin Sabnis, a Training Faculty from Unlearning Unlimited, Panaji, provided insights into motivation, inventory management, and working capital management. Participants were advised on the importance of maintaining records of daily transactions, keeping purchase and sales registers, and making informed decisions regarding working capital, including ensuring the availability of emergency cash.

Er. Anandu Chandra Khanashyam, the Training Coordinator at ICAR CCARI, delivered a briefing on packaging methods and the different packaging machines used in the industry. Additionally, Mrs. Nausin Mulla, a Food Safety Officer from the Directorate of Food and Drugs Administration, provided information on the basics and benefits of FSSAI registration and licensing, including the requirements outlined in Schedule IV of FSSAI, which encompass practices such as good manufacturing, hygiene, and laboratory practices, as well as mandatory testing of food products. She also covered topics such as Udyami registration and GST.

Furthermore, the participants had the opportunity for hands-on training at the post-harvest lab and the Virgin Coconut Oil unit, facilitated by Dr. Mathala Juliet Gupta. These practical sessions allowed participants to apply their knowledge within food-based domains.
