ICAR-KVK, North Goa Conducted Training Program on Integrated Crop Management in Collaboration with ZAO Pernem, Goa
ICAR-Krishi Vigyan Kendra-CCARI, North Goa in collaboration with the Zonal Agriculture Office, Pernem, Goa, organized a training program on Integrated Crop Management (ICM) on December 18, 2024, at Mopa Village, Pernem. The program was aimed to sensitize local farm women about the ICM and sustainable farming techniques.
A total of 36 female farmers participated in the training, engaging actively in discussions on the various aspects of ICM. Mr. Rahul Kumar, Subject Matter Specialist (Agronomy) at ICAR-KVK, North Goa, explained the fundamentals of Integrated Crop Management and covered crucial topic of water management within the framework of ICM, emphasizing its importance for sustainable farming practices. He also gave a detailed lecture on Integrated Pest Management (IPM) practices through natural waste to improve local crop yield.
Mr. Rahul Kulkarni, Assistant Chief Technical Officer (ACTO) delivered a lecture on "Soil Health and Management in Integrated Crop Management. He highlighted the importance of maintaining soil fertility for higher agricultural productivity and introduced participants to best practices for soil health management through Natural Farming practices such as Jeevamrut and Ghanajeevamrut.
The program concluded with a vote of thanks by Mr. Suraj Nhanji, Block Technology Manager (BTM), Pernem, Goa, expressing gratitude to the participants and all officials present.
