ICAR-CCARI Celebrated Indian Organ Donation Day
ICAR CCARI, Goa celebrated Indian Organ Donation Day on 3rd August, 2024 to spread awareness about organ donation, dispel myths and misconceptions associated with organ donation in line with the National Organ and Tissue Transplant Organization (NOTTO). Organ donation is the noble act that offers hope and new lease of life to those suffereing from the end stage organ failures. An public awareness campiagn “Angdaan Jan Jagrukta Abhiyaan” was organised in collaboration with the Healthway Hospitals, Old Goa on 02-08-2024. Dr. Sindhu Mallik Arjun, Consultant Nephrologist, Healthway Hospital, delivered a lecture on ‘Importance of Organ Donation’. As a part of this awareness programme poster drawing competition was organised with different themes. A total of 22 participants took part in this competition enthusiastically. Prizes were given to the winners of poster drawing competition. The pledge for organ donation was administered by Dr. Parveen Kumar, Director, ICAR CCARI. All officials, contractual staff, project staff & security personnel participated in the pledge-taking ceremony and awareness programme. Smt. Shreya Barve (PA), Nodal Officer of this programme, coordinated the Organ Donation Awareness Campaign.
