ICAR-CCARI, Goa conducted training-cum-distribution and farmers’ interaction meet under SCSP on 7th March 2024 in collaboration with KVK, ICAR-CIFA, Khordha, Odisha
ICAR-CCARI, Goa organized one day Training-cum-Distribution and Farmers’ interaction meet under Schedule Caste Sub Plan in collaboration with KVK, ICAR-CIFA, Khordha, Odisha on 7th March 2024. A total of 62 participants including 54 women farmers from 10 Self-Help Groups (SHGs) of Balipatna and Jatani blocks of Khordha district, Odisha attended the programme. Dr. Harapriya Nayak, Senior Scientist and Head, KVK, ICAR-CIFA welcomed all the delegates and briefed about the training-cum-distribution programme. In the inaugural address, Dr. S.S. Giri, Director (I/C), ICAR-CIFA appreciated the efforts of ICAR-CCARI, Goa towards the empowerment of farm women for livelihood security and income generation through use of agricultural implements distributed during the programme. Dr. Shirish D. Narnaware (Section in-charge, Animal and Fisheries Science) briefed about the activities of CCARI and highlighted the importance of livestock farming as a source of additional income for the farmers. Dr A.K. Dash, Retd. In-charge Head, KVK coordinated among the women farmer beneficiaries of SHG based on their need for agricultural implements and also demonstrated their use. During the programme agricultural implements like Power weeder with ridge, Rice mill, Multiple paddy thresher, Power paddy thresher cum winnower, Pulveriser machine, Gravy machine, Badi nugget making frame were distributed to total 10 SHG groups of Rajas, Guapur, Dhanahara, Majhihara and Jatni villages of Khordha, Odisha which will benefit more than 110 women members of these groups. Dr. Shirish D. Narnaware, Senior Scientist and Dr. Amiya Ranjan Sahu, Scientist of ICAR-CCARI, Goa and Dr. S.K. Singh (SMS) and Dr. B.K. Bhanja (CTO) of KVK, ICAR-CIFA coordinated the programme. During the valedictory function, special thanks have been conferred to Dr. Parveen Kumar, Director, ICAR-CCARI, Goa, for his support to organize the programme.
