Dr. N. K. Tyagi, Former Member, ASRB, New Delhi, Visited ICAR CCARI, Goa

     Dr. N. K. Tyagi, former Member, ASRB, New Delhi and former Director, ICAR CSSRI, Karnal, visited ICAR CCARI, Goa on 13^th January 2025. Dr. Tyagi visited all experimental plots with various facilities and units in CCARI campus in his extensive visit. He visited Agroecotourism unit, all experimental plots of Natural Resource Management, Crop Science, Horticulture, Animal Sciences and Fisheries sections, Biomass recycling units including Vermicomposting unit, Jalopchar facility and Demonstration unit for processing and value addition of cattle dung and urine; step towards zero waste with recycling of water and nutrients. He also visited the AET hut and Navagraha – Rashi- Nakshatra Vatika and appreciated the unique ways of moving towards sustainable ecosystem with model demonstrations.

   He also visited various outreach activity sites of Institute in North and South Goa and met progressive farmers on field. Later, Dr. Tyagi, interacted with all Scientists, Subject Matter Specialists and Technical Officers of the Institute and gave deep insight on increasing foreign collaborations, improving productivity of research programmes and key suggestions on increasing cropping intensity in the state of Goa with land and water management techniques.

    Under leadership of Dr. Parveen Kumar, Director, CCARI, the whole team of Scientists and Technical Officers coordinated the visits and interactive sessions of Dr. N. K. Tyagi.
