ICAR-CCARI organized a Field Day cum farmers interaction meet at Nigude village of Sindhudurg district, Maharashtra

The ICAR-Central Coastal Agricultural Research Institute, Goa organized a Field Day cum Farmers Interaction Meet at Nigude Village in the coastal district of Sindhudurg, Maharashtra on 1st February, 2024. A team of scientists from the Institute interacted with total 19 farmers and provided guidance on clean milk production, nutritional and reproductive management, breed improvement, cultivation of high yielding fodder varieties and shelter management of dairy animals. Scientists team also visited an integrated farm of a progressive farmer in which dairy (90 Gir cows), goat (70 local goats), Chicken (1500), duck (100), turkey (25) and gunea fowl (10) farming were integrated with vegetable farming in an area of 17 acres. Dr. Shirish D. Narnaware, Dr. Sanjay Udharwar, Dr. Gokuldas P.P. and Dr. Amiya R. Sahu coordinated the programme.
