ICAR- CCARI, Goa celebrates ‘World Nature Conservation Day’ @AKAM

    ICAR – Central Coastal Agricultural Research Institute (CCARI), Goa and ICAR – Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK), North Goa celebrated the ‘World Nature Conservation Day’ on 28th July, 2022, as a part of Azadi Ka Amrut Mahotsav. The theme of the program was ‘Cut down on Plastic Use’. Mr. H R C Prabhu, Senior Scientist & Head Incharge, KVK, spoke on the significance of the day and importance of conserving natural resources – soil, water and vegetation. Mrs. Sunetra Talaulikar, Subject Matter Specialist (Home Science) called on to reduce the use of plastics and save the earth. Mrs. Anagha Warlikar, Mrs Alenor Menezes and Mrs. Sheril D’Souza, the teachers from St. Michael High School, Taleigao, thanked the ICAR-CCARI for enlightening the students about the importance of natural resource conservation. Two students from the school also expressed their views on conservation of soil and water. During the practical session, vermicomposting procedures were demonstrated. The program was organized in collaboration with St. Michael High School, Taleigao and was attended by 145 students and teachers. Dr. Monica Singh proposed vote of thanks and Mr. Vishwajeet Prajapati documented the program.
