ICAR-CCARI, Goa conducted Training Programme on “Value Addition in Millets”

    ICAR-CCARI, Goa, ICAR-Krishi Vigyan Kendra (ICAR-KVK), North Goa in collaboration with Goa College of Home Science organized training programme on “Value Addition in Millets” on 16 February 2023. Dr Parveen Kumar, Director, ICAR-CCARI, Goa in his welcome address highlighted the objectives of celebrating International Year of Millets 2023 and importance of millets as climate-smart crops which require very low inputs. Dr Mahesh Pai, Principal of Goa College of Home Science stressed on having more collaborations with ICAR-CCARI and ICAR-KVK, North Goa for human resource development. Dr Bappa Das, Co-Nodal Officer for celebration of the International Year of Millets, in his remarks highlighted the multiple benefits of millets to physical and mental health of human beings. Shri H. R. C. Prabhu, Sr. Scientist and In-charge ICAR-KVK, North Goa welcomed all the dignitaries. Smt. Sunetra Talaulikar, SMS (Home Science) and training coordinator gave a summary of training programme to the gathering. The training programme was attended by 20 students from Goa College of Home Science, Panji. Shri Rahul Kulkarni, Assistant Chief Technical Officer (Agronomy) compered the programme and proposed the vote of thanks.
