    A lecture on ‘Glorious Journey of Indian Agriculture: Fortified India’s Food Security” was delivered by Dr. Parveen Kumar, Director, ICAR-CCARI, Goa, on 5th June 2024 at CWRDM, Kozhikode. Dr. Parveen Kumar was the Chief Guest on the occasion of World Environment Day celebrated on 5th June at CWRDM. In his lecture, he discussed about the history and growth of Indian agriculture and allied sectors after independence and, highlighted the significant milestones achieved by the country. He enlightened the participants about the importance of millets in achieving nutritional and health security. He also stressed that millets are climate resilient and suitable for marginal land under changing climatic conditions. Dr. Parveen Kumar apprised the participants about the need for research in agriculture and allied sectors for increasing the food production to fulfill the growing demand with the increasing population. About 100 people, including the scientists, staff, project staff, trainees and students of CWRDM, Kozhikode attended the lecture.
