Visit of Progressive Farmers from ‘Shri Kelbai Farmers Club-Pali to the Institute on One Day Educational Tour.

    On 31/1/2018 a group of progressive farmers ‘Shri Kelbai Farmers Club -Pali’ were on One Day Educational Tour to ICAR-CCRI Old Goa. Senior Technical Officers of the Institute, Mr. Rahul M. Kulkarni, Mr. Sidharth Marathe and Mr. Edward Crasta explained in detail about the ongoing research activities carried out in the institute. During this visit the farmers were shown various research plots.

    Honorable Speaker-Goa Legislative Assembly Dr. Promod Sawant was also present during this Educational Tour. He urged the farmers to start any of the agricultural processing units and convert the raw agriculture produce into the finished product this will help them to generate self employment and  one can set up a small entrepreneurship which will also generate employment to the other unemployed youth who are in search of a job.

    During this visit the Acting Director-A.R. Desai briefed about all the possible small scale agricultural processing units that one can start to make value added products from the raw agriculture produce. He also said that the doors of ICAR-CCARI are always open to the farmers and that the Scientific and Technical staff of this institute is always ready to solve the problems faced by the farming community.

    On behalf of the farmers club Mr. Raju Paidarkar thanked the officials of this institute for arranging a One Day Educational Tour and also motivating the farmers to take up agriculture as a commercial business.
