33rd Institute Research Council meeting conducted

    The 33rd Institute Research Council (IRC) meeting was held from 22-26th August 2022. In the inaugural remarks, Chairman, IRC and Director, Dr. Parveen Kumar, briefed the house about the Institute achievements in the last one year. He appreciated the efforts of the Scientists for bringing externally funded projects from different funding source. He also apprised the house about different awards and accolades received by the Institute and Scientists of the Institute. He advised the Scientists to be focussed, and to take up demand driven and need based research which will benefit the farmers of the coastal ecosystem. He also informed the house to take technologies in the targeted areas. Dr. K. P. Ramesha, Principal Scientist and Head, ICAR-NDRI, Bengaluru, was present on the first day of the meeting as special invitee to review the ongoing institute and externally funded projects in animal sciences and fisheries section. During the meeting, the project PIs presented the progress of work done under their respective Institute and externally funded projects. The work done under STC programme of the institute was also reviewed for the information of the house. The plan of work were discussed thoroughly and modified wherever required before being approved by the house. Dr. Manohara, K. K., member secretary, IRC thanked Director and all the Scientists for their cooperation in the successful completion of the meeting.
