ICAR-CCARI celebrated 77th Independence Day
ICAR – Central Coastal Agricultural Research Institute, Goa celebrated 77th Independence Day of our country today on 15th August’23 with great zeal and enthusiasm. National Flag hoisting by the Director was followed by National Anthem, patriotic slogans, parade and march by security guards, awards ceremony, cultural programme with decorations and sweet distribution to celebrate this very important moment to commemorate the day in 1947 when India gained independence from British colonial rule.
Director, Dr. Parveen Kumar addressed the gathering on this National Day. In his remarks, he wished all the staff members and their families a very happy Independence Day. He has paid tributes to all the freedom fighters because of whom we born in Independent India. He has also saluted the Indian Defence Forces who are protecting our motherland from enemies round the clock. The Director also counted the achievements, the feathers in the cap of CCARI in last one year and congratulated all the staff members for same. Further, as a research institute, he has emphasized our duties for the development of the farmers of the coastal area and thereby ultimately contributing to the nations progress. The meritorious children of the staff members were felicitated on this occasion with their parents by presenting them cash prizes under Staff Welfare Fund. The Director’s Appreciation Awards were too distributed in all category of regular staff.
The cultural programmes for children and staff members was organised comprising singing, dancing, poem reading, fancy dress etc. based on the patriotic theme of this National Day. The gifts were distributed to the participants at the hands of the Director. All the staff members including contractual workers, family members of staff, security guards attended the Flag hoisting ceremony and cultural programme on this National Day. Vinod Ubarhande, Farm Superintendent and Dr. Sujeet Desai, Scientist coordinated the celebration of Independence day programme.
