Shri. Chinnmay Tanshikar awarded IARI Innovative Farmer Award 2018

    Shri Chinmay Tanshikar , a progressive farmer from Netrawali Sanguem Goa was awarded with IARI Innovative Farmers Award 2018. The award was presented by Shri Parshottam Rupala, Honourable  Minister of State for Agriculture & Farmers Welfare and Panchayat Raj, New Delhi at ICAR - IARI, New Delhi on 18 March, 2018 in presence of Shri S. K. Pattanayak, Secretary, Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare, Dr. Trilochan Mohapatra, Secretary (DARE) & Director General (ICAR) and Dr. A.K. Singh, Director (ICAR-IARI) & DDG (Agriculture Extension), New Delhi.

    Shri. Tanshikar was recognised for his outstanding contribution in agriculture through different means such as developing of agro eco tourism model, development of value added products of nutmeg, pineapple, Jackfruit and Masala tea mix  and for following 100 per cent organic cultivation in his farm. Dr. E. B. Chakurkar, Director, ICAR- CCARI- Old Goa was also present along with Tanshikar for the award ceremony.

    Shri. Chinmay Tanshikar was nominated by ICAR- Central Coastal Agricultural Research Institute for the above award.
