ICAR-CCARI organized ‘Field Day cum Farmers interaction meet’ at Savoi verem, Goa

The ICAR-Central Coastal Agricultural Research Institute, Goa organized a Field Day cum Farmers Interaction Meet at Savoi verem, Goa on 02 April, 2024. Dr. Gurbachan Singh, Former Chairman of ASRB, New Delhi, Shri. Govindaraju NS, IAS, Controller, Human Space Flight Centre, Bengaluru, Dr. Parveen Kumar, Director, ICAR-CCARI, Goa with a team of Scientists from the Institute visited the Kulagar based Natural farming model unit maintained by Shri Sanjay Anant Patil, who has conferred with Padma Shri for his remarkable contributions to Natural Farming and Zero-energy Micro-Irrigation Systems for the year 2023. Other progressive farmers in the neighborhood also joined for the field day. Dr Gurbachan Singh appreciated the innovations and hard work of Shri. Sanjay Patil and gave required technical inputs to improve the farming system as a national and global model. He further stressed that, scientific documentation of these natural farming systems will help other fellow farmers to adapt these innovations on a wider scale. Dr. Parveen Kumar briefed the technical support provided by the Institute to Shri Patil and the documentation and popularization of the Kulagar model. Further, the dignitaries and scientists interacted with the farmers and gave necessary suggestions to develop, strengthen and promote the natural farming models. Dr. Manohara KK, Dr. Sreekanth GB, Dr. Uthappa, AR (Scientists from ICAR-CCARI) and Shri Rahul Kulkarni, ACTO, coordinated the programme.
