GSBB sponsored training programme on bio-resources like jackfruit, nutmeg, kokum & coconut
A training programme on different bio-resources viz. Jackfruit, Nutmeg, Kokum and Coconut was conducted on July 10, 2024f for 17 trainees (all women) from Bironda, North Goa. The trainees gained hands-on training on the processing of Jackfruit into various value-added products like Jackfruit Puree, jackfruit Pickle, Halwa, Kheer, Pakoda , and Patoli; They also learnt value addition of Aonla into Supari , Nutmeg Percicarp into Taffy and Nouth Freshner, etc. Kokum fruits into Syrup, Agal. The trainees were given demonstration on Virgin coconut oil extraction, FSSAI registration and good manufacturing, Food Domains, the importance of Value addition, Raw material, Tools/ Equipment's/Machineries required as per Capacity by Dr. Mathala Gupta, Principal Scientist, ICAR-CCARI & Mrs. Sunetra Talaulikar , Ex- SMS, KVK, North Goa. The training was coordinated with GSBB team Dr. Vidhya Gaude & Ms. Tanaya Pednekar, Food & Training Expert, GSBB , Goa .
