Training programme on “Secondary livelihood opportunities in fisheries sector of Goa”

 

 A three days training programme on “Secondary livelihood opportunities in fisheries sector of Goa” sponsored by National Fisheries Development Board was organised by the fisheries section of ICAR-Central Coastal Agricultural Research Institute (ICAR-CCARI) on 23rd to 25th August, 2016. The three days training programme has covered technical sessions from scientific experts, Mrs. Manju Lekshmi N and Sreekanth GB of Fisheries Science section of ICAR-CCARI and Mrs. Sunetra Talualikar, SMS, KVK North Goa. A total of thirty two participants from different parts of North and South Goa have participated in the programme. Mrs. Manju Lekshmi N, Scientist (Fisheries Resource Management) have co-ordinated the three days event.  Lectures and hands on training in preparation of value added products from fish and shellfish, coastal aquaculture, aquarium construction and management and ornamental fish breeding and culture. The training ended with valuable inputs for the growth of coastal aquaculture, marketing of value added fish products and ornamental fisheries sector in Goa. Prof. (Dr.) Narendra Pratap Singh, Director, ICAR-CCARI has given all the support for the three days event.
