ICAR-KVK North Goa Celebrated Agricultural Education Day

    ICAR-KVK North Goa, ICAR-CCARI Goa, organized the Agricultural Education Day at PM SHRI Kendriya Vidyalaya, Bambolim, Goa. The event took place on December 3rd, 2024, and was attended by 50 Higher Secondary students including 31 boys and 19 girls.

    The event was graced by the Chief Guest, SHRI Bidhan Chandra Singh, Principal of PM SHRI Kendriya Vidyalaya, Bambolim, Goa. He emphasized the critical importance of agricultural education in shaping future careers, urging the students to explore and embrace this valuable field.

    Dr. Udharwar Sanjay Kumar Vithalrao, Subject Matter Specialist (Animal Science) and In-charge at ICAR-KVK North Goa, spoke about the abundant educational opportunities available in Veterinary and Animal Sciences, highlighting the scope for students to build successful careers in this domain. Mr. Rahul Kumar, SMS (Agronomy), highlighted the vast opportunities in the field of Horticulture, emphasizing key areas such as Floriculture, Landscaping, Fruit Science, and Vegetable Science. He discussed how these disciplines offer significant career paths and contribute to the growth of sustainable agricultural practices, showcasing the importance of plant care, cultivation techniques, and environmental management.

    Mr. Rahul Kulkarni, ACTO (Soil Science), focused on the educational prospects within the agricultural sector, particularly in Agronomy, Soil Science, and Home Science. He underscored the relevance of these fields in enhancing soil health, improving crop yields, and advancing sustainable farming practices, which are essential for addressing global food security challenges.
