Hands on training cum demonstration on agriculture drone organized

 

        ICAR-CCARI, KVK, North Goa, and the College of Agriculture, Goa, collaboratively conducted a hands-on training cum demonstration on agricultural drones at Ella, Old Goa, on October 19, 2024. The primary objective was to raise awareness among students regarding use of agriculture drone in crop analysis, efficient application of inputs. Mr. Rahul Kumar, SMS (Agronomy), explained the benefits of drones in agriculture, including enhanced security, increased efficiency, water conservation, cost-effectiveness, and ease of maintenance. He highlighted the advantages for farmers and alleviated the detrimental effects of agricultural problems.   Mr. Viswajeet Prapati, the Technical Officer (Computer), highlighted the specifics of drone operational protocols for unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) in agricultural applications and the precautionary measures to be observed during their use. Students expressed excitement about the potential advancements that drone technology could bring to the field. One hundred two students and faculty members (43 males and 59 females) participated in and benefited from this program.
