Hands-on training cum demonstration on drone technology jointly organized by ICAR-KVK, CCARI, North Goa and Zonal Agriculture Office, Madgao
ICAR-KVK, CCARI, Goa, in collaboration with the Zonal Agriculture Officer (ZAO), Madgao, organized a hands-on training cum demonstration on drone technology for efficient utilization of nutrient Nano Urea and Nano DAP in Agriculture on January 15, 2025, at Nuvem, Madgao, South Goa. The event's primary aim is to showcase the practical applications of drone technology in enhancing agricultural practices. The session began with an address by Shri Rajesh D'Costa, Zonal Agriculture Officer, Madgao, Goa, who highlighted the significance of drone technology in modern farming and shared insights into how this innovation is revolutionizing agricultural practices. He also thanked the ICAR-CCARI team for providing a valuable demonstration of drone operations.
Mr. Rahul Kumar, Subject Matter Specialist (Agronomy), elaborated on the practical aspects of the training. He explained how drones can efficiently apply nano urea and nano DAP for foliar nutrition, enhancing crop health and productivity. Mr. Vishwajeet Prajapati, Technical Officer (Computer), gave an in-depth lecture on the role of drones in precision agriculture, emphasizing how technology is transforming agricultural operations and improving yield quality. The event was well-received by farmers and stakeholders eager to adopt modern technological solutions for improving farm productivity. This collaborative initiative is part of ICAR-KVK's ongoing efforts to introduce innovative agricultural technologies to farmers in Goa, empowering them to adopt more sustainable and efficient farming practices. Twenty-three participants (19 males and 04 females) attended this program. The training program was coordinated by Mr. Rahul Kumar, Mr. Vishwajeet Prajapati, and Dr. N. Bommayasamy.
