ICAR-CCARI SIGNS MoU WITH DIVEGOA

 

      A memorandum of Undersatnding  (MoU) was signed between ICAR-Central Coastal Agricultural Research Institute (ICAR-CCARI), Old Goa and DIVEGOA,  a private recreational diving training centre, Panjim Goa  on 30th  September, 2015. The latter is dealing with recreational dives, experimental dives, underwater visual census and fisheries environment data collection along the coastal ecosystems. Primarily, this MoU is for fostering research and development activities in the area of fisheries science and marine habitat on Public Private Partnership (PPP) mode for mutual benefits.

 The ICAR-CCARI, Old Goa was represented by Dr. Narendra Pratap Singh, Director; while Mr. Ajey Patil, proprietor represented DIVEGOA. . The Institute Technology Management Unit (ITMU) of the Institute facilitated the signing of the MoU. Dr. A.R. Desai member secretary, ITMU welcomed the chair,  DIVEGOA representatives and other members of ITMU, and briefly presented the highlights of MoU regarding its scope and boundaries. Director ICAR-CCARI congratulated DIVEGOA for entering into this endeavour with our Institute while emphasising the generation of valuable basic data and research information in the field of fisheries in particular  and marine habitats at large. Chairman also anticipated scope for exposing the scientists to DIVEGOA activities for deriving relevant beneifits. Mr. Ajey Patil, proprietor, DIVEGOA acknowledged the continuous scientific support of ICAR- CCARI, Old Goa in seeking scientific expertise and help as and when needed. Cdr. Arun Patil and Mrs. Alka Patil, the  founders of DIVEGOA expressed their pleasure and appreciated the opportunity extended by the ICAR-CCARI for the prospective collaboration.
