Visit of Dr. Alok Kumar Sikka, DDG (NRM) to the Institute
Hon’ble DDG (NRM), Dr. Alok Kumar Sikka, visited the Institute from 2-04-2015 to 4-04-2015. He visited various research units of crop sciences, horticulture and animal science sections. He also visited the Krishi Vigyan Kendra attached to the Institute. During his visit he interacted with scientists of different disciplines to get acquainted with the ongoing research programmes. He also inaugureted the redecorated Mandovi Guest House and Salinity Screening Facility at the Institute.
After the visit to various fields, a meeting with the scientific, technical, administrative and skilled support staff of ICAR was organized at the Conference Hall of ICAR. Dr. Narendra Pratap Singh, Director of the Institute welcomed the Hon’ble DDG (NRM), Dr. Alok Kumar Sikka. He briefed about the institute and the research activities of the centre. Dr. Alok Kumar Sikka then interacted with the staff and tried to understand the problems faced by them. Three publications, Technical Bulletin No. 49. - "Catch Trends in Major Marine Fisheries Resources of Goa", Technical Bulletin N. 48. "Two Decades (1990-2010) of Agricultural Entomology Research - A Scientific Review" and a Newsletter Vol 16. No. 3 (September to December, 2014) were released at the hands of the Honourable DDG.
The Honourable DDG appreciated the work done by the Institute and assured his continuous support to the Director and staff of the Institute.
