One day workshop on scientific writing
Library Services section of ICAR-CCARI conducted ‘One day workshop on scientific writing’ on 29 January, 2018. Former ICAR scientist, Mr. Yateendra Joshi who is a renowned editor and teacher was the resource person for this programme. Director of the institute, Dr. E.B. Chakurkar welcomed the gatherings and felicitated the speaker in the inaugural session. A total of forty participants were present in the workshop including the scientific, technical staffs of ICAR-CCARI and students. There were technical sessions on ‘Publishing research papers in high impact factor journals’, ‘Reporting numbers and quantities in text’, ‘Organizing quantitative data into tables’, ‘Avoiding common errors in English’ and ‘Handling citation and references’. Each session was followed by extensive discussions. In the valedictory session, the esteemed presence of Dr. J.R. Faleiro, a well known Entomologist, who was formerly working with ICAR research complex for Goa was there. Dr. A.R. Desai, Principal Scientist &Section I/c (Hort. Sciences) expressed his remarks about the workshop. The programme ended by vote of thanks proposed by Ms. Maneesha S.R., Scientist & Library co ordinaor, ICAR-CCARI, Goa.
