ICAR-KVK, CCARI, North Goa conducted training on Clean Milk Production

    ICAR-Krishi Vigyan Kendra, CCARI, North Goa, conducted “clean milk production” training on 16 July 2024 for the dairy farmers at Ibrampur Village, Pernem Taluka, North Goa.  Dr. Sanjaykumar Vithalrao Udharwar, Subject Matter Specialist (Animal Science), delivered lectures on Cleanliness and hygiene measures to be followed at Dairy Farms while milking and milk preservation, Mastitis preventive measures, udder health management of dairy cattle and overall care and management of lactating animals. He also demonstrated using the California Mastitis test to diagnose subclinical mastitis on the farm, dry cow therapy to prevent mastitis in lactating cattle and post-milking teat dipping technology to prevent mastitis in cattle and buffaloes.  Nineteen dairy farmers (six women and thirteen males), including Mr Sudhir Dhauskar, Chairman of the Ibrampur Dairy Cooperative Society, attended the training program.
