National Level Training Program on Cashew

    A National level training program on Cashew “Recent Advances in Cashew Production Processing & Post Harvest Management” was jointly organized during 6-8 January, 2022, by Directorate of Cashewnut & Cocoa Development, Cochin, Kerala in collaboration with ICAR – Central Coastal Agriculture Research Institute at Sal Training Hall, Krishi Vigyan Kendra-North Goa. Dr. S. K. Malhotra, Ex-Agriculture & Horticulture Commissioner, Government of India, was the Chief Guest and in his address spoke on cashew improvement, high density plantations, rejuvenation of plantations for increasing the productivity. Dr Parveen Kumar, Director, ICAR – CCARI, in his remarks briefed about the institute cashew improvement program and other activities. Dr. Venkatesh N. Hubballi, Director DCCD, Cochin, in his welcome address talked about Status of Cashew Production in the country and scope for improvement. Mr. Sanjiv Mayekar, Deputy Director, Directorate of Agriculture, Goa, gave the cashew production scenario of the State. During the technical sessions, recent advances in Cashew Production, Processing and Post Harvest Management were discussed. Mr. H R C Prabhu, Senior Scientist & Head I/C, KVK – North Goa proposed vote of thanks and Dr. Monica Singh compared the program. The training program was attended by the delegates from 13 different states.
