World Ayurveda Day Program
World Ayurveda Day is officially celebrated every year on the auspicious day of Dhanwantari Jayanti (Dhanteras) which is on 10th November this year. The institute celebrated World Ayurveda Day in collaboration in collaboration with Regional Ayurveda Research Centre for Mineral and Marine Medicinal Resources (RARIM & MMR), Ribander Goa on 7th November 2023 on the theme “Ayurveda for One Health” at the Institute. Dr. A. Raizada, in charge Director welcomed the scientists from RARIM&MMR and addressed the gathering on the importance of Ayurveda. The program included lectures on various important topics in Ayurveda by scientists from RARIM & MMR. Dr. G.V. Ramana, RO (Ay), gave a talk on “Importance of Ayurveda day and activities of RARIM&MMR, Goa” wherein he briefed about practices in Ayurveda and the Research activities at RARIM&MMR. Dr. H.K. Gupta, RO (Ay), gave a brief lecture on the “Importance of Mental health”. The topic “Introduction to Panchakarma in Ayurveda” was explained by Dr. Nandini Jadhav, in which she described the various methods for cleansing the body of all unwanted waste/toxic products. Dr. Neethu Kesavan, RO (AY) gave a presentation on “Practice of ‘Dinacharya’ for health promotion” wherein she stressed daily routine self-care activities like waking up at Brahma Muhurta, exercise, body cleansing, body massages, good sleep, etc. which must be followed by everyone for a healthy life. The lectures were followed by an Ayurveda Medical Camp by doctors from RARIM&MMR for the staff of ICAR-CCARI at Institute Agro Cafe and prescribed medicines were distributed to the staff. The program was attended by Institute staff and coordinated by Dr. Susitha Rajkumar (Sr. Scientist) and Shri Rahul Kulkarni (Asst. Chief Technical Officer).
