ICAR-CCARI Organized Training-cum-Field Demonstration under AICRP on Pig

 

    ICAR-CCARI, Goa organized one day Training-cum-Field Demonstration on Scientific pig rearing on 3rd May, 2023 under AICRP on Pig. Total six farmers attended the training at Chinchinim village panchayat, Salcete, Goa. Dr. Amiya Ranjan Sahu (Scientist and P.I. of the project) explained on housing, feeding, breeding practices and health management in pig farming. Dr Gokuldas P.P (Senior Scientist) discussed on different aspects of reproductive management and importance of artificial insemination in pig breeding. The Subject Matter Specialists (Animal and Fisheries Science), South Goa KVK were also involved in this programme and explained the various schemes supported by Goa state govt. for development in piggery and fishery sector, respectively. The participants were provided with extension folders on pig farming and castration in pigs to enrich their knowledge on scientific pig farming. At the end of the programme, mineral mixture, deworming tablets and multivitamin supplements for pigs were distributed. Dr Amiya Ranjan Sahu and Dr Gokuldas P.P coordinated the programme. Mr Sajan Naik (YP), and Mr Laxmikant (contractual staff) assisted in registration of participants and distribution of the inputs.
