24th Annual Group Meeting of All India Coordinated Research Project on Palms
24th Annual Group Meeting of All India Coordinated Research Project on Palms is being held at ICAR-Central Coastal Agricultural Research Institute (ICAR - CCARI), Old Goa from 26th May to 29th May, 2015. The Chief Guest of the programme, Mr. Manoj Kumar Sahoo, IAS, Secretary (Agriculture), Govt of Goa addressed the gathering of all the renowned scientists involved in the above AICRP on Palms and deliberated the various issues on palms research in the country. Dr. Narendra Pratap Singh, Director, ICAR-CCARI in his welcome address emphasized the need and scope for palm research in the coastal region. Dr. S.K.Sharma, Director, CIAH, Bikaner, Dr. P.L.Saroj, Director, DCR, Puttur and Dr. A.S.Kumaraswamy, Former Dean (Education), UAHS, Shivamogga also addressed the gathering. The Chief Guest Mr. Manoj Kumar Sahoo in his address emphasized the importance of coconut in Goan agriculture. Dr. H. P. Maheshwarappa , Project Co-ordinator (Palms) presented the technical report of the program and highlighted significant achievements. Dr. V. Arunachalam, Principal Scientist, ICAR-CCARI, Old Goa proposed the vote of thanks. Dr. P. Chowdappa, Director, ICAR-CPCRI, Kasargod is the key research manager of the program.
