ADG (SWM) inaugurated a two days training on Natural farming at ICAR-KVK-CCARI, Goa

     ICAR-KVK, North Goa of ICAR-CCARI, Goa, organized a two-day training program on "Natural farming" as part of the out-scaling of natural farming through KVKs at Kudne, Bicholim, Goa, from March 4 to 5, 2024. Dr. A. Velmurugan, ADG (Soil and Water Management), NRM Division, ICAR New Delhi, inaugurated the program. In his inaugural remarks, he emphasized the importance of integrating natural farming and organic practices into the realm of sustainable agriculture. He passionately conveyed to the gathered farmers the importance of switching to natural farming methods, which help us to prioritize ecological balance and long-term viability. Furthermore, he urged the agricultural community to reduce its reliance on chemical-intensive farming methods, emphasizing the critical need to preserve and improve soil health for future generations. He also distributed vegetable seeds and basic ingredients for making natural farming inputs to the farmers. Dr. N. Bommayasamy, Senior Scientist and Head of ICAR-KVK, North Goa, welcomed the guests and farmers. He informed the farmers about the two-day training program and encouraged them to practice natural farming. During the inaugural function, Shri Rajendra Falkar, Sarpanch of Kudne Panchayat, thanked ICAR-CCARI, Goa, for organizing the program and praised its efforts and contributions to Goan agriculture. Panchayat members, progressive farmers, farmers, and farm women from Kudne Village attended the program. This training program was participated in and benefited by 45 participants. The progressive farmer, Shri Minanth Zalmi, proposed the vote of thanks. Shri Rahul Kulkarni, ACTO, and Shri Vishwajeet Prajapati, TO coordinated the program.
