ICAR-CCARI organized a field day cum farmer interface at Usgao, Goa

 

            ICAR-CCARI, Goa organized a field day cum farmer interface and input distribution programme under SCSP at Usgao on 13 July 2024.  A total of 10 farmers (including seven farmwomen), the members of Deepasthambam Mahila Society, Usgao, Goa participated in the programme. Dr. Sreekanth GB highlighted the importance of the scheme and emphasized the role of ICAR-CCARI in improving the livelihood of the farmers along the coastal region. He has also demonstrated the operation of the low-cost crab fattening unit and low-cost tarpaulin fish tank for improving the income of fishermen/farmers. The crab units, tarpaulin tank and fish posters were distributed to the beneficiaries. The beneficiaries also requested for the support for the value addition in food and fish products and storage measures. The beneficiaries also assured all the support for the research and development activities of ICAR-CCARI. Dr Sreekanth GB, Shri Trivesh Mayekar- Scientist (Fish genetics and breeding)) and Mr. Melbin Lal (YP 2) coordinated the programme.
