Institute organizes Clean India Mission programme on 16-05-16

 

Owing to the importance of Swachh Bharat Abhiyan or Clean India Mission lead by the Government of India, the ICAR- Central Coastal Agricultural Research Institute has actively organised a cleanliness awareness programme on 16th May, 2016. This was organised as a part of the fortnight cleanliness drive which starts from 16th May, 2016 as special Swachhta Pakhwara. The function was started with a Swachhta Pledge at the institute at 10.30 am. The scientists, administrative, technical, supporting, SRFs, RAs and contractual staff of the institute and Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK) have participated in the pledge taking ceremony. In this, all the staff members of the institute have taken a pledge for keeping the hygiene of their surroundings (residential area, office and experimental plots). Dr. Narendra Pratap Singh, Director of the institute emphasized that everybody should spend 100 hours in a year for the accomplishment of hygiene of our environment. He has also mentioned that everybody should pass the message of personal and environmental hygiene to at least 100 people in their family and neighborhood. He has called for the whole-souled co-operation of the public for cleaner Old Goa under the mission. A silent procession was also organised to create awareness and motivate the people of Old Goa for maintaining individual hygiene and cleanliness of the surroundings.
