Report on SCSP programme in the field of Home Science

       Survey was conducted in different villages of  North Goa  in order to assess the economic status and the resources available with SC farmers .

   Five training programmes on processing of Kokum and Cashew  were conducted at KVK – North Goa campus for the benefit of SC farmers from different villages of  Goa and Maharashtra. Farmers and farm women were given hands on training on preparation of  value added products like Kokum squash,, Kokum agal,, kokum rind and cashew squash. Farmers were selected based on resources available in their villags for the training programme in order to improve their economic status by involving them in  income generating activities  .  Total 90 farmers and farm women  were trained under this programme. The following inputs were given to the farmers as group activity for SHGs.in different villages. 

1.     Storage  tank for processing of kokum. ( plastic )

2.     Stainless steel utencils with lid and dawal

3.     Steel strainer

4.     Plastic storage bins  for sugar

5.     Plastic masala dubba

6.     Appron 

Farmers were motivated to start  this activity as an enterprise and detail information on FSSAI registration and  as well as Scheme from MSME, Margoa  were explained to the beneficiaries.
