SCSP STC inputs distribution in the presence of Dr. Pramod Sawant , CM, Goa

 

The STC –SCSP program of ICAR-CCARI was started in the year 2011 for the tribal beneficiaries of Goa through which Farm & Process Machinery, technologies developed by ICAR-CCARI like seeds of newly released varieties of Paddy, Planting material of newly released varieties of Cashew, Good production and management practices of, Bio-Control agents, Pheromone traps, Vegetable seeds, Soil status based nutrient management, fertilizers, coconut tree climbers, By-pass fat, milking machines, fishing gear, artificial fish habitats, training programs and FLDs  have been distributed to the Tribal farmers across the state of Goa.

Last financial year the STC –SCSP program was divided into two different programs viz. STC and SCSP by the government of India to allocate more funds for both the programs and to reach more beneficiaries. Under SCSP program last year ICAR-CCARI has procured quality planting material, biocontrol agents, vermicompost, fertilizer and pest & disease control chemicals, vegetable seeds and farm tools, pheromone traps & lure traps for pests, fishing gear, artificial fish habitats, arecanut dehusking machines, electric cabinet dryer, sealing machine, mini rotary tiller, power sprayer, brush cutter and conducted various training and sensitization programs. Some materials have been already distributed in Goa, Maharashtra and Uttara Kannada.

Under these activities, a program was arranged in the forenoon of September 20, 2019 for distribution of farm machinery viz. 2 Mini Power tillers with accessories (` 94,914/-), 4 Brush cutters(` 1,80,000/-),  4 Power Sprayer (` 94,916/-),  2 Nos. of Electric Cabinet dryer & 2 Nos. PP Sealing Machine  (` 100,300/-), 1 no. Milking machine (` 72,500/-),  By-pass fat, mineral mixture and teat disinfectant (` 73,000/-), to SCSP farmers belonging to Maulinguem- Bicholim, Ibrahmpur, Pernem, Kudal-Sindhudurg under Scheduled Caste Sub plan  Programme & Collapsible Fishing Traps (` 40,500/-), Biorepel Gel (` 92,600/-)  to Canacona fisherman association  and Kuncolim Group, Ponda under STC program of the institute. Various Scientists viz. Dr. S. Priya Devi, Principal Scientist (Fruit Science), Dr. Mathala Juliet Gupta, Senior Scientist (AS& PE), Dr. Gokul Das, Scientist (Animal Reproduction), Dr.Sreekanth G.B., Scientist (Fisheries Resource Manangement), Dr. Chethan Kumar, Scientist (vetinerary Public Health) and Ms. Maneesha S.R., Scientist (Fruit Science) took active participation in procurement, identification of beneficiaries and distribution of the above inputs.

The program was graced Dr. Pramod Sawant, Chief Minister of Goa and Dr. E.B. Chakurkar, Director(A) of ICAR-CCARI. The program began with introductory note on the institute’s STC and SCSP programmes by Dr. Mathala Juliet Gupta, Coordinator (STC & SCSP), followed by welcome address by Dr. E.B. Chakurkar, Director(A) of ICAR-CCAR. The various inputs mentioned above were distributed by Dr. Pramod Sawant, Chief Minister of Goa, who in his address appreciated ICAR-CCARI, Goa for its dedicated work under the two programs where various technologies of institute have been benefitted the SC and Tribal farmers. He also pointed out to the farmers that they should utilize the inputs and expertise of Scientists for agricultural development of their areas and their state. A Marathi folder on “Murghas” by Dr. Sanjay Kumar Udharwar, Dr. Monica Singh and Dr. E.B. Chakurkar was released by the chief guest. The program concluded with vote of thanks by the compere of the program Ms. Maneesha S.R. Scientist (Fruit Science)
