Meeting of State Variety Release Committee held at Directorate of Agriculture, Tonca , Panjim to discuss about release of Cashew and Rice varieties of ICAR-CCARI, Old Goa on 23.01.2016
A meeting was held by State Seed sub committee for Agriculture and Horticulture crops for the state of Goa at Directorate of Agriculture, Krishi Bhavan, Tonca, Cananzalem on 23.01.2016. the purpose of meeting was to discuss the release of three cashew varieties (namely Goa Cashew 2, 3 and 4) submitted by Dr A R Desai, Senior Scientist (Horticulture) and two rice varieties ( Goa Dhan -1 and 2) submitted by Dr Manohara K, Scientist (Genetics and Plant breeding). The meeting was chaired by Secretary, Dept of Agriculture in the presence of Dr E B Chakurkar, Director (Acting), ICAR-CCARI, Old Goa, Shri. Ulhas Pai Kakode, ​Director of Agriculture, Goa, Officials from National Seed Corporation ltd, Bengaluru and scientists from ICAR-CCARI, Goa.
Dr A R Desai and Dr Manohara K presented the details of cashew and rice varieties to be released in the meeting. Dr Shivasharanappa N, Scientist and PME cell Coordinator recorded the proceedings to facilitate the meeting. (Photos )
